Not all nitrile gloves are built the same

Nitrile, as you may know by now, is made out of synthetic rubber, which is a man made material. People use nitrile gloves to protect themselves from chemical exposure. However with the increase amount of price pressure, manufacturers are finding ways to adjust their production to combat the cost.

A lot of times, they do that by reducing the thickness of the gloves. Take a nitrile glove and measure it against other nitrile gloves from different manufacturers and you will see the evidence. It’s quite common where the thickness between the fingers and the palm varies significantly. The thickness could vary almost a 100% (eg. 0.06 mm to 0.12 mm).

So before you go out and purchase a nitrile glove. Get some information about the finger thickness vs palm thickness measurement. The thinner it is, the more you are prone to exposure.
